Since the creation of the Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA) in 1985, the emirate of Dubai has steadily moved up the list of the most attractive cities, first for business and then for daily life. In 2019, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) was ranked the 25th most competitive economy in the world by the World Economic Forum’s Global Competitiveness Report, a success attributable to its strategic location between Asia, Europe and Africa.
